Recorded from a siemens kleinsuper a8 tube-driven radio. Those devices were sold in 1958 and 1959. Recorded with a t. Bone sc450 condenser over a behringer ddx3216 digital console into ardour. The sample has been normalized. This sample was recorded from the defective medium wave section of the radio. It contains mostly dark hum and rumbling.

Each accidental pattern was mined out of a much longer recording. I noticed these interesting sequences of noises while editing other samples over the years and threw them into a catch-all folder. All of these were recorded with a usb-stick mic so they have a nice lo-fi distorted quality. Try looping any of these patterns and you'll hopefully understand why i selected them.

Floriade in canberra 2013 - lots of people looking at flowers, taking photos talking, walking, some small rides, bands in the park, a old time pipe organ.

This was originally a friend's cat meowing but it has been processed heavily. First, it was put through a granulizer and the pitch was dropped -2 octaves. The sample was then panned l-r using automation, and bitcrushed. Lastly, to get a slight detuned feel, i added a chorus effect. This sample sounds even better with some convolution or hall reverb but i left this effect out since it's usually a effect users want total control over. The end result is a strange, alien sounding noise.

As i was working in an incidental sound i was continuously recording. All i saved was the ending. 2 seconds. But the sound is nice. Something in-between bass sound and bass drum sound… if you find use of it let me know.

Recorded at kingston foreshore at lake burley griffen in canberra on a windy day - people walking and riding past, peak hour traffic going over the bridge, some birds noises and a black swan approaches at the end to get some food.

At the waters edge, the muddy shoreline of an urban lagoon, the ripple of waves splashes in. Urban sounds mixed in as this is located near center of redwood shores, california at marlin park's beach area.

I used ableton's:. - grain delay (spray: 80ms, frequ: 43 hz, rndpitch: 3. 19, fdb: 65, wet: 70%)- compressor with very slow release as kind of an amp-follower- carefully adjusted gate with 111ms release- very short simpledelay- overdrive- short reverb. The sounds of when you unplug an audio cable and plug it back in. Recorded like this, it was kinda ridiculous but very fun:unplugging and re-plugging a 1/8" to rca cable from a phone -> used one of the rca outputs -> rca to 1/4" adapter -> scarlett 2i2 -> protools.
